What is the benefit under ClearChoice Max policy?
- Flexibility of cancelling your booking anytime before the hotel check-in time

Do I have to pay anything to avail ClearChoice Max?
Yes, ClearChoiceMax is a paid service. Pricing starts at ₹49. You can view the actual fee on the respective hotel’s rate plan at the time of booking. This fee is non-refundable with an exception of when the cancellation is made by the hotel itself.
What is the eligibility for ClearChoice Max refund?
- A customer must opt-in to the ClearChoice Max plan at the time of booking. The benefit is available to all such bookings made by a primary passenger, who is an Indian resident and above 18 years of age & booking for his personal travel. The primary passenger can have any number of co-travelers.
- Coverage is valid only on hotel bookings (domestic & International) made on Cleartrip.com (mobile or web applications) with ClearChoiceMax as an opt-in at the time of booking
What is covered?
- All hotel bookings, where customer has opted for ClearChoice Max on Cleartrip are covered
- ClearChoice Max covers the complete cancellation penalty levied by the hotel or a maximum of ₹25,000 (whichever is lower)
- Bookings made within the booking window of 1 day prior to check-in to 90 days prior to check-in are covered
What is not covered?
- Hotel bookings made by Indian nationals under the age of 18 Years, or booking/s made on someone’s behalf (B2B Bookings)
- Bookings made from outside India are not covered
- Bookings with same day check-ins and bookings with check-in after 90 days are not covered
- ‘No Show’ bookings shall not be eligible for the claim
- Cancellations due to calamity, not necessarily declared by the appropriate governing body
- Cancellations made after the check-in time of the hotel are not covered
- Cancellations made after the customer checks in at the hotel are not covered
- Cancellation of the trip either wholly or in part done at the instance of the common carrier/ public carrier or by the hotel, Air Transport Authority or any government body.
- Bookings made with intent of cancellation shall not be eligible for claim under the cover. Intent here means multiple bookings for overlapping dates & configuration made by the same customer or a trend of bookings for a specific hotel which are cancelled repeatedly
- Promotional wallet money is non-refundable
- Cancellations forced because of bounced bookings or check-in denials by the hotel or failure of the hotel to discharge the booking are not covered.
- In case of amendment requests, ClearChoice Max benefits will be removed from the booking
- The ClearChoice Max fee collected from customers will be non-refundable with the exception of when the cancellation is made by the hotel itself.
Why do I see a different price for ClearChoice Max on different itineraries
- The ClearChoice Max service fee can vary based on multiple internal parameters (date of check-in, number of travellers, type of cancellation policy, etc ) leading to different prices for different itineraries.
How to claim the refund under ClearChoice Max?
- Bookings must be cancelled on Cleartrip.com (mobile or web applications) just before the hotel check-in time on the date of the check-in to claim the refund. For International bookings, the hotel’s local time is considered for cancellation. Once cancelled, the claim will be automatically processed & refund will be credited to the original payment method.
When will the refund be processed?
- Post a ClearChoice Max booking is cancelled. Once the refund request is approved, it will be processed within 48 hours. Amount will be reflected in the customer’s bank account within 7 working days. Other Cleartrip discounts will remain non refundable.
How are penalties levied for the hotel booking covered by ClearChoice Max calculated?
- Penalties levied by the hotel during cancellations is calculated by applying hotel’s original cancellation policy on hotel’s booking charge [Hotel base fare + taxes – supplier discount (if any)]
- This penalty would be covered under ClearChoice Max up to a limit of ₹25,000
Terms & Conditions
- This benefit is for selected hotel bookings made on Cleartrip’s app/website/mweb only
- A claim request will be automatically raised if the customer cancels the booking before the hotel check-in time on the date of the check-in.
- The refund will be completely at Cleartrip’s discretion and processed post-validation and verification.
- Customers cannot claim on multiple trips, within 24-48 hours of check-in window, to the same location. Claims for bookings, made for the same hotel for overlapping dates or for multiple hotels over the same/overlapping dates, shall be deemed ineligible for claim settlement.
- Cleartrip is only facilitating ClearChoice Max & the actual service is provided by the insurance company directly to the customer. Cleartrip would invoice for only facilitating/service charges to the customer.
- Cleartrip reserves the right at any time, without prior notice and liability and without assigning any reason whatsoever, to add/alter/modify/change or vary all of these terms and conditions or to replace, wholly or in part and to withdraw ClearChoice Max at any time in its sole discretion.
- Cleartrip shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising due to a force majeure event.
- Cleartrip is the sole authority for interpretation of these terms.
- These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of India and the courts at Bangalore will have exclusive jurisdiction over any matters/disputes arising out of or in relation to Cleartrip.
- Cleartrip or any of its affiliates will not be liable or responsible for any loss or damage whatsoever that a customer may suffer, directly or indirectly, in connection with Cleartrip that arises from such customer’s own act of omission or commission.
- In no event the entire liability of Cleartrip under this offer shall exceed the booking amount.
- Any person availing this benefit shall be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions.
